Crime: vandalism is a serious offence.

Michael P. Fay an American citizen was canned strokes four time, jailed for four months and have to pay $3500 fine. Canned stroke was reduced from 6 to 4 as the U.S embassy officials have plead for leniency upon his behalf. He vandalized an Mrt in Singapore in 1994. Such heavy punishment was implement towards him just because he vandalised. Singapore take such matters into serious considerations. Therefore Singaporeans are more aware next time if they want to do something foolish such as vandalising Government or other's properties.




Recently i received an email from a friend who lives in this neighbourhood. It is shocking and appaling.Its either they are oblivion to the fact that they will be punish thoroughly or they are not aware of the consequences they have put themselves into.

Action DOES speak louder than words.

Im very sure people heard about the gang fights that happening in Vic Street. Havent you? The increasing number of innocent people seems to their target to vent their unsettled problems with their fellow gang mates which is unreachable. Due to the increase number of groups, police have thereby step up and the security in Vic street is tighter to prevent any other gang fights. Now, we can see many more patrol cars among the neighbourhood. Another action that the police took was scanning the teenagers that are in groups caught loitering around Vic Street. Teenagers who is in possession of weapons will be sent straight to the police station for further investigation. This actions have decreased the number of teenagers loitering in groups. Therefore, gangfights hardly occur nowadays.

Crime: Terrorist Outburst

Currently Singapore faced a havoc regarding the escaped of Mas Selamat from Whitley road detention centre. It caused commotion. Posters was found everywhere around singapore to inform us that we keep a lookout and be alert. As Singapore is a small country, everybody was extra conscious about this matter.This was one example of crime that has happened in Singapore and it freaks almost all the Singaporean. The woodland and tuas custom checkpoints security was tighten. Everybody was extra aware of their surrounding knowing that a dangerous person is out there free to do what it please. It was scary as hell but knowing that Singapore can manage such events make us feel a little better.
